Drink of Water

September 8, 2010

Yes, a drink of water would be good for the drought around here.  It’s been a busy summer, and no, it wasn’t so busy that I couldn’t write about it, but things go that way sometimes.   A summer with a 2 week trip out of the country, a blogging conference that feels like it runs a week, and several shorter trips can really take it out of you.  It’s sad, because summer is my favorite season.  Come Labor Day, I’m dreading the onset of SAD – long dark days, cold nights, allergies…you name it.  Fall is no  party in my house.

So, a quick update before I write the customary promise to not go so long in between blog entries…

Soccer Girl returned from 7 weeks of summer camp ready to go back next summer, if not the next day.  She had a fabulous time and it was hard not to notice that she is growing into a bright, charming and caring young lady.  She started 6th grade yesterday and the big news was that she finally got a top locker instead of the bottom one she had to scrunch into last year.

IT Boy continues to grow, charm and amaze us.  He turned 4 yesterday and the occasion was met with much merriment.  He’s in a new class at his old preschool.  Still a self contained class, but now a larger one, which is a step up.  He’s still in his myriad of therapies, but we seem to be going in the right direction, which is good.

The BlogHer panel I spoke about last month?  It was as bad as I thought it would be.  At least seeing Carleen Brice, an author I admire, made it palatable.   But never fear, I will return in the next few days with news on not one but two panels which will bring sexy back to the publishing discussion in a big way.

In the meantime, it’s good to be back!
