Coming soon to a web browser near you

October 10, 2008

edited to add link to

If you live in the “Rivertowns” area of New York, you’ve probably noticed that we don’t have a really great web site for local news.  There is a newspaper, called the Rivertowns Enterprise, but they don’t have any web presence and they only come out once a week.  Say you want to figure out what time the Hastings Farmers Market is open, or you want to see what’s going on in Dobbs Ferry’s thriving restaurant scene.  Or maybe you can’t remember when picture day is and you think it’s a wise idea to do so before you send your kid to school in a soccer shirt and shorts.  Tangent.  Sorry.

Well, never fear, residents of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, and Irvington, a new web site is launching this month. looks to be just what we need – a one stop web source for info on shopping, restaurants, outdoor activities, school and local events, and much more.  It’s run by Jennifer Holiday and Howard Grossman.  Jen was a marketer at Wiley, and Howie was our art director who left Wiley to go freelance.  They married, made babies, and (wisely) fled the city for the relative peace and calm of the Rivertowns.  Now, they want to give us the web guide we’ve always wanted.  Do check it out and tell them what you think.  Oh, and don’t forget to mention that the IT Girl sent you.

Ellen, thanks for the news! Great thing to know.

And aren’t you a find…kindred spirit. We should meet, since I’m a Rivertowner/working mom/blogger/someone who forgets picture day too.
