“A Learning Experience”

December 18, 2007

That’s what the ESPN2 announcer politely called Albany’s visit to Cameron Indoor Stadium last night.  I’m proud to say it was not the 50 point blowout that some predicted.  If you can be proud of a 41 point blowout, I am.

I was mildly annoyed with the announcers for much of the game.  They acted like it was an inconvenience for them to have to be there.  Like they had better things to do than their cushy jobs calling basketball games.  People, try and put on a game face here.  Respect the game.  It wasn’t quite as painful as listening to Bryant Gumbel call a game on the Football Network, but really, there isn’t much that is.

on the bright-side, the announcers did advise that this was the perfect time to see games at Duke since the student population is back home on holiday break. So if you want to see a very good team, make plans for this time next year! Not sure exactly when the best time to see Albany games as I do not believe they play in the summer….
